Malta’s detailed Bus Route Map & Schedules has just been published on Piccante! In collaboration with the Public Transport Association, (ATP), we have made available for download a detailed Leaflet that highlights various information regarding Malta’s Bus Routes & Bus Schedules.
The leaflet is available in Digital PDF Format and includes information in English, Italian, German as well as French.

The Malta’s Restaurants Map has just been launched! In collaboration with Google Maps, Piccante has published an interactive map that pin-points the restaurant available on the Maltese Islands and provides detailed information on each of them. This map will help users navigate through the Maltese Islands and identify new restaurants in different locations.
Are you looking for a restaurant in a specific city? Or perhaps you would like something which is near to your current location? Not a problem! Simply launch the Malta’s Restaurant Map, directly from your PC or even from your mobile phone and you are ready to go.
Google Maps offer a detailed map of the Maltese Islands consisting of street names as well as satellite imagery. This will ensure that you will not easily get lost on your way to the restaurant of your choice. So what shall it be tonight?

This is an encyclopaedia of various culinary related entries that we have encountered during our journey through the restaurants available on the Maltese islands. The purpose of The Piccante Foodopedia is to help you gain a better knowledge and understanding of several interesting entries related to food & the culinary world, which we include in our Restaurant Reviews.
What Does The Foodopedia Consist Of:
The Foodopedia consists of two main sections: the Food Section and the Wine Section. In the wine section you will be able to find detailed information regarding different aspects of wine, including major wine countries and regions. On the other hand in the food section, you will be able to find information regarding different aspects of the culinary world. Such information consists of different types of dishes, ingredients, utensils, flavours, fruits, vegetables, fish, meats, game, cooking & preparation methods and many more.
This section also includes information regarding our Maltese Cuisine as well as some typical Maltese Recipes. Last but not least be sure not to miss our popular Maltese To English Fish Name Translation Page.
How Is It Updated?
Our Foodopedia will be growing steadily! The entries that are listed on the Foodopedia consist of cuisine related details that we have encountered during our journey through the restaurants of the maltese islands. Therefore this section will continue to grow steadily with time, as we encounter more and more food entries at different restaurants across the Maltese Islands.

Thanks to your interest in Piccante we are getting larger and larger every day and thus we have decided that it was time to migrate our website onto a better server.
Why did we make this Server Migration?
Our first reason for this server migration is YOU! With this server migration our website is now:
1. More stable and can handle the current and future growths of visitors that we receive everyday.
2. Over 200% Faster! Our website (include the Forum and Live Chat systems) uses the latest technologies include heavy reliance on PHP Scripting and MYSQL Databases thus performance is a must to ensure that everything works as smooth as possible.
3. Realtime Language Translations are now taking place in background every 5 Minutes. If you wish to view Piccante in a foreign language you will no longer have to wait for a semi-translated page (unless the page you are viewing has not yet been translated)

Our new server is now 130% Wind Powered! Our server is located with a provider who has purchased certified Renewable Energy Credits (REC) representing 130% of the electricity used to both power and cool the server.

As from February, we are going to introduce another interesting feature to our website. Members of the team at Piccante are starting to do in-house reviews. The reviews conducted will be of some (hopefully most if not all!) of the restaurants that are currently listed on Piccante.
The conducted reviews are going to be in-depth and un-biased, highlighting every point that there is to note and know about the concerned restaurant. Therefore if you are thinking about going to eat at a certain restaurant, we first invite you to take a look at our reviews and ratings (if that restaurant has been reviewed) to see what we have to say about it.
Reviews will include Piccante Ratings that are available on every restaurant’s page and the in-depth article will also be accessible directly from page itself. We will also be introducing the Online Piccante Awards.
So, as from next month, apart from searching to find the restaurant that you will visit next, our website will also offer you Restaurant Reviews / Piccante Ratings / User Ratings / Piccante Badges Awards / Piccante Annual Awards .

We have installed a new template on our Forum making it look much better and giving it that overall Piccante Red Theme.
Our Forum located on http://www.malta-restaurants.com/forum/ allows both Restaurants Owners and Restaurants Potential Customers to interact together. Restaurant owners have the possibility to list custom special offers, events, vacancies required and anything else they wish to communicate to the whole Food & Drink community.
On the other hand Restaurants Clients have the possiblity to write about their experiences at the restaurants they have visited, list complains and suggestions or express themselves in any way they prefer.

Today we have launched some new exiting features on our website. To start with Dress Codes on every restaurant page now contain a graphical Guideline to indicate what is meant by terms such as Smart Casual, Streetwear, Informal, etc…
Secondly YOU are now able to rate the restaurants that you have visited. Each restaurant has a User Rating Section, whereby our readers have the ability to rate (on a 10 Star basis) any restaurant they have visited based on their experience. This will allow users to share their experience with others who might be interesting in visiting this restaurants as well. The rating system is equipped with multiple protection features to ensure that no duplicate ratings and abuses are performed.
Furthermore we are now also opening a new professional in-house reviews section. We will slowly be visiting restaurants all over the maltese islands and do a personal detailed review of each restaurant visited. As for restaurant owner, Got a Piccante Card with the bill? Then you have been reviewed by us already! If not any restaurant owner/manager that is interested in having us review their restaurants should contact us on support@malta-restaurants.com.

Good News once again! We are constantly searching for new ways to improve our website to enhance your experience with us. Apart from the fact that we are constantly updating our website technologies almost weekly we generally perform some major updates that we would like you to know about.
As from today Piccante will also be available on your favorite Mobile Phone Browser! Whether you are using a Nokia, Opera Mini Browser or any other generic PDA or Mobile Device, our website will automatically detect your device and prepare a stripped down version for you.
This on-demand page generation will allow Piccante to be visually optimized for mobile phones as well as avoid making usage of JavaScript and Flash elements to ensure that not only it loads faster but also requires less data to be transmitted!
